Description:
To show wave properties of light, electromagnetic waves, sound or other types of waves. By taking advantage of the optical properties of water waves, phenomenon, can be enlarged and made visible on a screen. The ripple tank provides a dramatic demonstration of the general properties of waves and propagation phenomenon.
• Reflection and refraction. By using the linear dipper bar plane parallel waves can be produced. The waves exhibit reflection and refraction when appropriate barriers are used in ripple tank.
• Interference phenomenon occur when two point source dippers generate circular waves. The distance between the sources and their frequency can be regulated.
• Plane parallel waves from point wave sources when they encounter a double slit formed by three barriers.
• The propagation velocity is dependent upon the depth of the water layer. The transparent lens cross section is covered by a shallow layer of water.

Description:
• It is used as a demostration model with an overhead projector.
Comprises a steel frame with an acrylic window.The frame is shared to from beaches on all sides to minimise unwanted reflections and fits neatly onto an overhead
projector.The underside of the frame has threaded metal inserts to take the four legs provided enabling the tank to be used as a free standing bench model if required.Facilities are provided for mounting the ripple tank illuminant for this purpose.A gantry is supplied for supplorting a motor beam.The height of which is easily adjustable allowing it to be positioned for maximum effect.Ripple are produced by a small 1.5V to 4.5V d.c. motors mounted on the plastic beam of 240mm length. A standard cam is fitted to the motor spindle to give an oscillatory motion and row of nine holes in the beam are for mounted the spherical dipper for production of circuler ripples.
The full set of apparatus comprises:
